FAIR-Weather Friends :)

Zach and I have already learned a lot in our one year of marriage, and I know we are just getting started. One of these things is the importance of having great friendships. Thank God for Nick + Kate Garber who are two of the greatest friends we've ever had! There is something really special about hanging out with another married couple, especially since these two have been with us through our dating relationship, our engagement, and now our marriage.

They use to live pretty close to us in Brooklyn and we hung out multiple nights a week. But since they have recently moved to New Jersey, we have had to work a bit harder at having more time to hang out. We finally were able to plan a little 'staycation' with them in New Jersey this past weekend, and we loved every minute of it! Originally we planned to go to the lake and get some sun, but the weather forced us to come up with another plan. Long story short, we finally ended up going to the NJ State Fair, and we couldn't have had a better day!

From racing to make it to the MET Life Stadium's Health Expo to get stamped so we could enter into the fair for free, to searching Target and a random grocery store to find ponchos, I knew it was going to be an unforgettable day. It was raining from the moment we walked into the fair until the moment we left. Actually, I think it is safe to say that it was pouring when we left. All in all, the fair was everything I remembered it being. It definitely did not disappoint! We rode as many rides as possible, ate fried oreos, dipped ice cream cones and frozen bananas, played the classic water game (and Zach won me a stuffed dog!), and laughed until we cried. Because of the rain, we basically had the whole place to ourselves!

Thank God for friends who can make rainy days the most fun days! I can't wait for next year!
