Cold Spring Day Trip

Last weekend was Zach's birthday, so I decided to plan a day trip for us to a little town called Cold Spring, NY. It is super easy to get to from NYC by just taking the MetroNorth up the Hudson River for about 1.5 hrs. It's such a beautiful train ride and drops you off right at Main Street in the middle of town! We went once before when we were dating, and both absolutely loved it! We were due for another visit... :)

We left around 9:30am, grabbed a coffee and some breakfast, and caught the 10:30am train from Grand Central arriving to Cold Spring around noon. The weather was perfect, and as soon as we got off the train the first thing we noticed was how quiet it was. It's such a peaceful place, and such a nice change from the hustle and bustle of the city. Our first stop in town was Foundry Cafe for brunch! It's a super cute cafe that has incredible omelets, pancakes, and quiche. Afterwards, it was time for shopping! Main Street is full of antique shops, boutiques, and specialty stores. Of course I spent the majority of my time scoping the racks of vintage clothing, but I did end up finding some new AG jeans at a boutique for only $20, regularly $164!! ;) There are so many great stores, but if you ever make the trip, I highly recommend checking out Cold Spring General Store, Cold Spring Apothecary, and Old Souls. Next time we visit I want to book a massage or facial at Cold Spring Apothecary... It is absolutely stunning inside!!

Later, we went for a walk down by the water to take in the beautiful view and just relax. We definitely want to go sometime this sumer and take the famous Breakneck Ridge hike, which is one of the most famous Hudson Valley hikes. It takes several hours, so if we do that I would love to stay a night or two at a bed and breakfast that I've looked into a couple times called the Pig Hill Inn. Our last stop before taking the train back to the city was at Rincon Argentino. We had to get some coffee and gelato to make our trip complete!

If you are looking for a day trip or an escape from NYC, I highly recommend checking out Cold Spring! Hope you enjoyed this post + some of our favorite photos from the day!
