*2015 Recap*
It's that time of year when everyone begins reflecting on what has passed, and starts looking forward to what's ahead! As cliche as 'New Years resolutions' can be, I actually look forward to making them. No, unfortunately this does not mean that I always stick to them... but it does help me to start my year off by remembering the major events from the previous year and start dreaming for what's to come in the next! ((Side note: How awesome would we all be if we actually stuck to every single NY Resolutions we ever made? Ha!))
2015 was a really, really good year for me. There were a lot of hard times for sure, but it was definitely a year with a lot of growth and opportunities! One of the main things I did this past year was travel. My husband and I both absolutely love to travel and will take any opportunity to go on an adventure!
- In January, we went to Grand Bahama, Bahama.
- In February, we went to Indian Shores, Florida.
- In March, we went to Austin and Dallas, Texas and I went to Kerrs Creek, Virginia.
- In April, I went to Los Angeles, California.
- In May, we went to Kampala, Uganda in Africa and Amsterdam, North Holland in the Netherlands.
- In June, we went to Rice Lake + Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- In July, we went to Minneapolis, Minnesota.
- In August, we went to Charleston, South Carolina and to Southampton, New York.
- In September...believe it or not we actually didn't go anywhere haha! :)
- In October we went up the coast from Los Angeles to San Francisco, California.
- In November, we went to Charleston + Anderson, South Carolina and Augusta, Georgia.
- In December, we went to Menomonee Falls + Crivitz, Wisconsin and Des Moines, Iowa.
I loved each and every one of these trips, but my two favorites were going to Africa and to California in October! Both of them were trips I have always dreamed about taking. In Africa, we got to volunteer with orphans in Uganda at Watoto. It was absolutely life changing!! ((Surprisingly, I actually just realized I haven't posted about this trip yet so I will make sure to do that soon!)) And California in October was our road trip from LA to San Francisco on Hwy. 1! ((You can read more about that adventure here!))
Another massive part of 2015 was me starting this blog! It is something I have wanted to do for a very long time, but finally decided to just go for. I really appreciate those of you who take the time to read it and follow along on my journey. It means so much to me and I am so thankful to have a creative outlet like this to be able to utilize and share my experiences + inspirations with! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! <3
Throughout this year, I feel like I have learned a lot more about being married. It was our first full year of marriage, and it just makes me so excited to keep learning and growing together as a couple! There's still so much to learn... :)
Also, I've gained a lot more clients as a fit model! In 2015 I worked for Opening Ceremony, Steven Alan, Armani Exchange, Ralph Lauren, Almost Famous, Victorinox Swiss Army, Onia, Mara Hoffman, Chaus, Amoi, Whit NY, Emelle Design, Dolce Vita Apparel, Vanilla Star, and Jemma Apparel. I have learned a ton about fit modeling and have been able to maintain my measurements for my clients in a healthy way.
Like I mentioned before, there were several heartaches in 2015 including a few deaths of people who I truly loved and admired. However, for every sad and dark night there is always a joyous morning right around the corner! I will never forget some of the hard times I have faced, but I do consciously choose to look at the positive and focus on the good times over the bad. Sometimes the greatest and most meaningful lessons are learned in the stretching, growing, and difficulties.
For this next year that we have just begun, I truly am believing for the absolute best! Not just a good year, but a FANTASTIC one! I pray and have faith in knowing that God can do anything, including turning bad situations around for good in some miraculous way! Of course I know that not everything will be easy, and I actually don't want that. I am just looking ahead at all the possibilities that this year can bring and am so excited for what's to come! I hope that you have started dreaming about your 2016 and are hoping + believing + confessing of all the greatness to come in your life!! If you don't do that for yourself, who will?!
Please feel free to share any of your resolutions below! I would feel honored to read them!! :)
